Our mission
We are Alga-Med Therapeutics, a FemTech company.
Despite all our technological and social progress, there are still too few solutions made for the female body. We develop technologies for the most common intimate health issues: dryness, infections and fungal infections, period pain, pain during sex and, we hope, endometriosis pain. Women spend a great deal every year trying to solve them, and they still don't get the answers they deserve. So we created Secrét de Joie, a brand that brings natural, effective solutions to these everyday issues.

A revolutionary patent
From red micro-algae to A-SPS™.
Alga-Med Therapeutics was founded in 2014. Over about five years of research and development, we created A-SPS™: a technology protected by patents in Europe and the US, based on a natural extract of the red micro-algae Porphyridium cruentum and adapted to the sensitive vaginal environment. Every Secrét de Joie product is built on it: hormone-free and oil-free, at pH 4.2, which supports lactobacilli, the vagina's natural probiotics.

Hi, I'm Efrat Ramati.
CEO, Alga-Med Therapeutics
Being a FemTech company means solving very common problems that half of humanity doesn't know exist, while the other half spends a fortune every year trying to solve them.
After years in technology, I discovered the world of FemTech. When I saw the value of Alga-Med's technology, I decided to join and lead the company, to answer the silent epidemic of women's health.
I realised that in a room with ten women, more than half of them are probably living with it, and won't tell me, even if they're my close friends.
When I started, I was sure vaginal dryness was something that happened to some women after menopause. The deeper I went, the more amazed I was to learn that women live with it for almost half of their adult lives, and that it happens to younger women too, at many stages of life.
We need to talk about it.
It saddens me that women don't talk about it, or feel that something is wrong with them. So I decided to talk about it, and to do everything I can so that as many women as possible understand what is happening in their bodies and how to find a solution.
I picture more and more women joining this circle, teaching their friends, their daughters and their mothers, letting go of the shame, starting to talk, to ask, to understand, and to believe they deserve to feel good about intimacy at every age.
That is what gets me out of bed every morning, excited.

Why Secrét de Joie?
A secret, made joyful.
The name was born from knowing how often women keep vaginal dryness a secret. We wanted to turn that secret into a joyful one: instead of shame and embarrassment, pleasure and a celebration of womanhood in all its forms. We moisturise our face, neck, hands and feet every day, yet we often forget one part of the body. Secrét de Joie is here to change that.
