A-SPS™ and the algae.
What is A-SPS™?
A-SPS™ is our patented bioactive gel made from the red micro-algae Porphyridium cruentum. It is the basis of every Secrét de Joie product and makes up half of Deep Hydration. It took our scientists five years to develop.
What can A-SPS™ do?
A-SPS™ is built to address the most common intimate health issues: dryness, fungal and bacterial infections, and pain. It holds water for moisture that lasts up to 36 hours, has a pH of 4.2 and low osmolality. In laboratory tests it reduced Candida albicans by 3.5 log within 24 hours. See the research.
Why does pH 4.2 matter?
The natural vaginal pH is 3.8–4.5. This acidity is part of the body's natural defences against fungi and bacteria, so every product we make is matched to it.
What is osmolality, and why is below 500 better?
Osmolality measures how concentrated a gel is. A gel that is too concentrated can draw water out of delicate tissue and irritate it. The WHO recommends up to 1,200 mOsm/kg; A-SPS™ gels measure about 491.
Is A-SPS™ patented?
Yes. A-SPS™ was developed and is owned by Alga-Med Therapeutics and is protected by granted patents in the United States and Europe, including a European patent registered in the UK, France and Germany.

Which one is right for me?
What's the difference between the three products?
Revive Foam gently cleanses the vulva, outside only. Deep Hydration is a daily moisturizer that keeps tissue moist for up to 36 hours. Revive'n Play is a silky gel for intimate moments. Cleanse, hydrate, play.
Do your products contain hormones or fragrance?
No. None of our products contain hormones. Deep Hydration and Revive'n Play are fragrance-free; Revive Foam has no artificial fragrance.
How long does a bottle of Deep Hydration last?
About two to three months of daily use from one 30 ml bottle.
Can I use Revive Foam inside the vagina?
No. Revive Foam is for the vulva, the skin on the outside, only. We believe the vagina never needs washing: it cleans and protects itself.
Can I use them during pregnancy, after birth or while breastfeeding?
Yes. Deep Hydration is suitable during pregnancy, after birth and while breastfeeding. Use Revive'n Play once the area has healed after birth.
Can I use them alongside hormone, drug or cancer treatment?
Our products are hormone-free and phytoestrogen-free, and can be used alongside medical treatment after talking to your doctor.
Are the products registered?
In the US, all three products are cosmetic products.
